
Delft, The Netherlands, May 2026. DAB.bio has appointed Prof. Michael Helmut Kopf as Chief Technology Officer. As of May 1st, he will be accountable for all technology-related activities within the industrial biotech company.Michael brings a wealth of experience in biotechnology and chemical engineering, spanning the full spectrum of industrial biotechnology development. Over the course of his career, he has held leadership and technical roles at industry leaders as BASF, Alfa Laval and Pieralisi. He also serves as Professor of Industrial Bioprocess Development at TH Mannheim and as lecturer Industrial Bioprocesses at the renowned Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. More recently, Michael served as Director of Alternative Fermentation at BASF, and as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board at LanzaTech.DAB.bio is a leader in industrial biotechnology, developing scalable solutions for costeffective, continuous biomanufacturing. Its proprietary FAST technology enables a wide range of biomanufactured products to become cost-competitive with fossil- and animal-based alternatives. DAB.bio is in different phases of joint process development with customers active in the personal and home care, fuels, specialty chemicals and enzymes and proteins segments.
